When not in use the figural pieces can be kept in the envelope section attached to the back cover with the instructions and the book can be folded up to it's original size. SOME come with fold out versions with envelopes and some with stapled versions where the pages do not foldout and no envelope. Some were reproduced by the SHACKMAN company.
